October is Energy Action Month

CHESTER, Va., October 17, 2017 –   With colder weather on the way, Columbia Gas of Virginia is reminding all customers to save energy and money through WarmWise, a program that has helped natural gas customers save more than $10 million since 2010.

“WarmWise is an important part of Columbia’s commitment to help customers get the most value for their energy dollar,” Carla Dix, Lead Performance Analyst, said.  “By visiting, customers can find simple and effective ways to save energy and reduce their monthly bills.”

Here are some of the ways Columbia Gas customers can save energy and money via WarmWise:

  • Residential customers can take Columbia’s free online home savings evaluation. The evaluation generates a personalized report with energy savings tips. For completing the evaluation, qualifying customers are sent a free energy efficiency kit with items that can be easily installed in their homes.
  • WarmWise also offers residential rebates for customers to save by upgrading to energy efficient equipment, such as high-efficiency gas furnaces, insulation, doors, windows and skylights.
  • Business customers can receive rebates and energy-saving equipment as well via the WarmWise program.

“October is Energy Action Month, and a great time to take steps to make your home or business more energy efficient in advance of the colder winter months,” Dix added. “Not only can customers save money now through our rebates, but they then get the benefit of lower energy use for years to come.”

Since Columbia Gas of Virginia launched the WarmWise program in 2010, business and residential customers have collectively saved more than $10 million on their natural gas bills. More than 40,000 customers have participated in the program.  Customers can learn more at
