LIHEAP Crisis
iis a federally funded program administered by the Virginia Department of Social Services to help eligible households who are facing heating-related emergencies. Eligible services may include heating equipment repair or replacement, security deposit assistance, restoration of inactive utility service, and help with utility termination notices. Applications for heating equipment repair/replacement and security deposit assistance are accepted November 1 through March 15.
Applications for inactive utility service and utility termination notices are accepted from the first working day in January through March 15.
