Fire School for Emergency Responders
Enhance Your Skills with Free, Hands-On Training
Emergency responders attending this free, one-day training course are given the opportunity to extinguish real natural gas pipeline fires at our training facility in Stanardsville, Virginia. We simulate several types of natural gas fires including:
- Well head fires
- Flange fires
- Excavation damage
Each fire is ignited in a controlled setting using natural gas from the high-pressure pipeline operated by Columbia Gas Transmission. Participants are guided through field exercises by Columbia Gas of Virginia emergency responders.
