critical role its more than 450 employees play in about 100 communities across
the Commonwealth to deliver safe and reliable energy to approximately 290,000
natural gas residential and business customers.
The efforts of these essential workers were recently commended by the 2024
Virginia General Assembly through House
Joint Resolution 169, led by Delegate Wendell Walker and Senator Mark
Peake, honoring Columbia Gas’ more than 175 years of service to Virginians.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from the 2024 Virginia General
Assembly,” said Columbia
Gas of Virginia President and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Montague.
“We can’t say enough positive things about our employees in the field and our
support staff who are all so mission-focused, sometimes working through the
night and in adverse weather conditions, to ensure our customers have the
energy they need to stay warm and safe and to power their homes and businesses.
Our employees’ dedication and commitment are unmatched.”
"I am grateful for the opportunity to recognize the hard work and
commitment of the more than 450 Columbia Gas employees who tirelessly ensure
the safety and reliability of our natural gas supply here in the Commonwealth
of Virginia," said Delegate
Walker. "This resolution is a testament to their
dedication to excellence and underscores the pivotal role Columbia Gas plays in
