Chester, VA – Today, Columbia Gas of Virginia and Virginia 811 are announcing the selection of Columbia Gas employee and Damage Prevention Specialist Joshua Goss as the first-ever recipient of Virginia 811’s Damage Prevention Ambassador Award.
The award is intended to recognize and celebrate individuals who actively engage in initiatives that reduce the risk of utility damage during excavation projects, go above and beyond in promoting safe excavation practices and foster a culture of safety and education within their community.
Nominees were required to meet a minimum of five out of 10 specified criteria including contributing to reducing damages within their area, having a company program for safety and damage prevention and actively promoting the 811 message - “Contact Virginia 811 Before You Dig. Every dig. Every time.”
