Home Savings Program
Installing new, energy efficient equipment can save you money on your natural gas bills. And, WarmWise wants to give you cash rebates when you invest in certain energy saving upgrades. Customers are urged to review application submission requirements before beginning any home energy efficiency upgrade to ensure your project qualifies for a rebate.
Columbia Gas of Virginia does not require reservations for the WarmWise rebates. A customer simply has to purchase a qualified appliance or install the appropriate energy efficiency materials before applying for their WarmWise rebate. Please keep reading about the specific appliance requirements so you can get a WarmWise rebate.
Hot water
Replace your older hot water heater or purchase a new hot water heater with an ENERGY STAR® natural gas storage water heater, with an Energy Factor (EF) of .62 or more and WarmWise will send you $50. This rebate is available to customers in new or existing homes. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies here*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
Replace your older hot water heater or purchase a new hot water heater with an ENERGY STAR® natural gas tank-less water heater with an Energy Factor of (EF) of .82 or more and WarmWise will send you $300. Heating
Replace your current furnace or purchase a new furnace with a high efficiency natural gas furnace with an AFUE of more than or equal to 90% and WarmWise will send you $300. This rebate is available to customers in new or existing homes. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Windows
Old windows often are responsible for heat loss in many homes. Replace your current windows with ENERGY STAR® high efficiency windows with a U-value of 0.32 or less and the SGHC less than or equal to 0.40; and WarmWise will send you $1.00 per square foot of each replacement window in your existing home. Complete the rebate application.
Insulation
Adding or improving insulation can help you keep your home warmer during cold weather by reducing heat lost through attic and floors. Improve your attic and/or floor insulation by adding insulation of R-19 or higher and WarmWise will send you $.30 per square foot of new insulation in your existing home. Complete the rebate application.
Ductwork
Leaky ducts contribute to heat loss in many homes. Contact a contractor who can seal your ducts to Performance Tested Comfort Systems standards in your existing home and WarmWise will send you $200. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies* for an estimate. Duct sealing must be installed in unconditioned spaces and installed by a qualified contractor.
Poorly insulated ducts also contribute to heat loss. Contact a contractor who is qualified, like one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, to insulate your ducts to an R-value of 6 or higher. Complete the rebate application and WarmWise will send you a $250 rebate.
Rebate applications
A complete rebate application with qualified receipts must be submitted to Columbia Gas of Virginia in order to receive a WarmWise rebate. Review application submission requirements before beginning any home energy efficiency upgrade to ensure your project qualifies for a rebate.
