CHESTER, VA – Columbia Gas of Virginia, a NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) company, reaffirms its core commitment to customers and safety with the announcement of Vince Ransom as Vice President of Gas Operations – effective May 1, based in Chester.

Ransom is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. He most recently served as the Director of Transmission/Substation Work Management & Business Support for ComEd, an Exelon company. His responsibilities included oversight of a budget of almost $400 million as well as setting strategic direction for multi-year work plans and budget levels. Ransom prioritizes employee safety and places a strong focus on employee engagement and development. He has a demonstrated record of adding process improvements and implementing operational enhancements that advance both employee and customer satisfaction.
He previously served as ComEd’s Regional Director of Electric Operations with the oversight of six reporting centers, providing safe and reliable service to over 890,000 customers with a workforce of 450 employees. Earlier in his career, Ransom worked for PECO Energy, where he gained knowledge in gas and electric distribution systems and provided day-to-day direct oversight and supervision for field employees. He has also held successful roles as a manager for both Operations Control and Customer Care centers.
Ransom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management/Human Resources from Rosemont College Bryn Mawr, Pa. and certificates from the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan’s School of Business.
