Natural Gas Service

Natural Gas Service

Current Expansion Project

Safe. Reliable. Efficient. Affordable.

That’s what more than 250,000 customers in Virginia have come to expect from us. We help our customers live a more comfortable life by keeping them warm, helping heat their water, cook their meals, and wash and dry clothes. For businesses, we supply the energy they need to produce their goods and services.

We're looking at programs, policies and opportunities to expand our infrastructure and bring the benefits of natural gas to new areas in Virginia. We've currently identified one new area to serve customers: Goochland County.

Goochland County Expansion

Construction started in November 2017 on a $4.7 million expansion project that will extend Columbia’s existing natural gas distribution system to help serve the vibrant West Broad Street corridor and surrounding areas in eastern Goochland County. See the map below for the exact area of the project.

Columbia Gas of Virginia is investing in the new facilities to accommodate continued market growth in the area, including at the Notch Commercial Park.

When and Where

Construction of the Columbia Gas of Virginia Goochland County system expansion project started in November 2017 and will continue through approximately April of 2018.

The work primarily will take place along Hockett Road between Tuckahoe Creek Parkway and West Broad Street, and along West Broad Street Road to Wilkes Ridge Parkway.
