Home Buyers Want Natural Gas

Today's home buyers are focused on energy efficiency, great value and convenience. They overwhelmingly prefer homes that are equipped with natural gas. A survey conducted in 2011 by a building industry consulting firm revealed that:

  • 72% of home buyers prefer gas hot water heaters
  • 75% of home buyers prefer gas for cooking
  • 71% of home buyers prefer gas heating
  • 74% of home buyers would recommend gas to their family and friends

In a 2010 study, the National Association of Home Builders concluded that, on average, natural gas homes sell faster than all-electric homes, and at a 6% higher price.

Our Pledge to You

When we asked how we can improve our service, builders, developers and others responded "Install my tap and service line more quickly." We heard you, and we’ve changed our processes to meet your needs.

We pledge to install your tap and service line within 10 business days when:

  • You tell us your site meets our site readiness requirements, and
  • We receive any necessary permits

Our pledge applies to residential and small commercial service (we’ll let you know up-front if your service requirements exceed these guidelines). It does not apply to mainline extensions and associated taps. If your site is not ready when we arrive, you will need to call us again and the ten-day cycle will reset.
