CRISIS

CRISIS is a Federal program that is intended to provide assistance with heating emergencies. Examples of heating emergencies include lack of heat, termination notices, and inoperable or unsafe heating equipment.

CRISIS is administered by the Virginia Energy Assistance Program through the Department of Social Services. Eligible customers should visit their local Department of Social Services to apply.

Important Application Dates

Applications for equipment-related assistance, security deposits, and emergency shelter are accepted from November 1, 2016 through March 15, 2017.

Applications for utility termination notices are available from January 2, 2017 through March 15, 2017.
