Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation Receives Grant of $2,500 from Columbia Gas of Virginia

Chester, VA – August 3, 2017 – The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation has received a $2,500 grant from Columbia Gas of Virginia to help provide school supplies for students in need.

“This year we needed to provide school supplies for over 1,300 students and that number is growing as school is beginning next week. This donation is going a very long way to help ensure all LCS students, including those with greatest need, have the school supplies they need to be prepared for school and excited to learn,” said Jodi Gillette, Executive Director of the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation. “This donation was critical in allowing us to extend our reach beyond the elementary school and ensure that our secondary students will also receive school supplies. We sincerely appreciate your support.”

In the past five years, Columbia Gas of Virginia and the NiSource Foundation has provided more than $1.7 million in charitable contributions across the Commonwealth.
