Home Energy Assistance Application Period Opens October 8
The application period for Virginia residents seeking financial assistance for the 2013-2014 heating season through the Virginia Energy Assistance program opens on October 8 and continues through November 8, 2013. The Virginia Department of Social Services administers the federally-funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program through the Virginia Energy Assistance program. Eligible consumers can make applications at their local Department of Social Services office.
“It is important that eligible consumers enroll during the next month and take advantage of this energy assistance application period so they can receive benefits later this winter,” said Carl W. Levander, president of Columbia Gas of Virginia. “We also encourage customers to consider using our WarmWise energy efficiency program which offers free energy saving materials and rebates to help reduce energy consumption.”
