CHESTER, VA. – Feb. 29, 2012 – Columbia Gas of Virginia and the NiSource Charitable Foundation have awarded a $10,000 grant to the Big Brothers Big Sisters – Harrisonburg-Rockingham County in support of their efforts in providing one-to-one mentors to children facing adversity in the community.
“By bringing hope and opportunity to children in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham County area, Big Brothers Big Sisters is changing children’s lives for the better by providing them with a safe place to learn and grow,” said Carl Levander, Columbia’s president. “We are particularly impressed with how they inspire and challenge the young people to become productive, responsible citizens and be our future leaders.”
