How
much gas did you use?
Columbia
Gas of Virginia reads your meter at approximately the same
time every month. The reading date appears as the last item
of your bill under the "Gas Usage" heading on your
bill.
Many customers
like to keep a close check on their gas usage. They read their
gas meters more often and keep their own personal records.
This helps them track their conservation efforts.
To determine
how much gas you have used, you need to compare the reading
you have just taken with a past reading or one taken several
days or several weeks later (preferably around the same time
of the day). Subtract the smaller reading from the larger.
The difference is the amount of gas used during the time between
the two readings.

Your
bill also indicates your most recent usage. Look at the section
labeled "Gas Used," in the Meter Information portion
of your bill. Here you'll see how much gas you used during
the billing period for which you're being charged. The gas
used is shown in Ccf or Mcf. One Ccf equals 100 cubic feet
of gas. One Mcf equals 1,000 cubic feet of gas.
