Business Savings Program

Installing new, energy efficient equipment can save you money annually on your company’s natural gas bills. WarmWise wants to give you cash rebates when you invest in certain energy saving upgrades to your business. Business owners are urged to review application submission requirements before beginning any energy efficiency upgrade to ensure your project qualifies for a rebate.

Columbia Gas of Virginia does not require reservations for the WarmWise rebates. A customer simply has to purchase a qualified appliance or install the appropriate energy efficiency materials before applying for their WarmWise rebate. Please keep reading to learn more about the requirements for specific WarmWise rebates.

Qualifying equipment

Low-flow pre-rinse spray valve (retrofit only)

  • Replace your current pre-rinse spray valve with a qualifying low-flow pre-rinse spray valve of less than or equal to 1.6 gallons per minute and WarmWise will send you $30 per unit. Complete the rebate application.

High-efficiency Coin-op or Laundromat clothes washer

  • Replace your existing coin operated or Laundromat clothes washers with qualifying ENERGY STAR® high-efficiency washers with an MEF greater than or equal to 1.8 and WF less than or equal to 7.5 and WarmWise will send you $150 per unit. Complete the rebate application.

Hot water and heating

Install new or replace your older hot water heater with:

  • ENERGY STAR® gas storage water heater of less than 75,000 BTU/hr and an EF of greater than or equal to .62 to receive a $50 cash rebate per unit installed. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY gas storage water heater of more than 75,000 BTU/hour and at least 82% thermal efficiency (Et) and WarmWise will send you a cash rebate of $2.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies* here, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • ENERGY STAR® tank-less water heater of less than 200,000 BTU/hr and an EF of greater than or equal to .82 to receive a cash rebate of $2.00/BTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY tank-less water heater 200,000 BTU/hr or more and at least 82% thermal efficiency (Et) and WarmWise will send you a cash rebate of $2.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • Replace your current water heater with a direct contact water heater is greater than or equal to 300,000 BTU/hr and a thermal efficiecny (Et) of greater than or equal to 90% and WarmWise will send you a cash rebate of $1.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.

Install new or replace your existing gas boiler with:

  • ENERGY STAR® gas boiler of less than 300,000 Btu/hr and AFUE of 85% or more and WarmWise will send you a cash rebate of $3.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY gas hot water boiler between 300,000 BTU/hr and less than (not equal to) 2,500,000 BTU/hr and a thermal efficiency (Et) of 90% or greater to receive a cash rebate of $3.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the online rebate application. 
  • STEAM GAS BOILERS: new construction and retrofit installations are eligible. For steam boilers with an input energy usage between 300,000 Btu/hr and 2,499,999 Btu/hr and an thermal efficiency (Et) greater than or equal to 82%, the rebate level is $2.00 per kBTU/hr-input. Complete the online rebate application.

Install new or replace your existing furnace with:

  • HIGH EFFICIENCY gas furnace of less than 225,000 BTU/hr and an AFUE of 90% or greater to receive a $200/unit cash rebate. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY gas furnace of less than 225,000 BTU/hr and an AFUE of 92% or greater to receive a $300/unit cash rebate. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY gas furnace of less than 225,000 BTU/hr and an AFUE of 94% or greater to receive a $400/unit cash rebate. Find one of Columbia Gas of Virginia’s independent trade allies*, or contact your preferred independent contractor for an estimate. Complete the rebate application.

Replace your existing natural gas non-infrared heating system with any gas-fired infrared heating system and receive a cash rebate of $2.00/kBTU/hr. Find one of Complete the rebate application.

Customers may be required to provide documentation that the installation exceeds Code requirements before a rebate check may be issued. Rebates are limited to existing businesses with gas heat for space heating measures and gas water heating for water heating measures.
