Serving approximately 245,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers, we are the third largest natural gas utility in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
A History of Safety and Reliability
For over 160 years Columbia Gas of Virginia has safely and reliably delivered natural gas to customers throughout the Commonwealth. Our operation began in 1847 in the historic city of Petersburg, Virginia. Today, we serve over 81 communities including: Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Chesterfield County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, Fredericksburg, Petersburg, Staunton, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Lexington.
